Why Mud-Set Tile?

Mud-set tile (also called mortar bed or traditional method) creates a rigid, perfectly leveled surface that lasts decades. Unlike thin-set over drywall, a mud-set floor is impervious to flex and is the preferred method for custom shower pans. It’s the same method professional tile setters have used for over a century — and it’s what we use on projects where longevity matters.
